Old Favorites

While it may be fun for some to fill their closets with all of the latest trends every season, personally I love reaching into my closet and finding great pieces that I've had for ages and styling them in new ways.  Today, I opted for a simple black blazer I bought a few years ago, slightly distressed Baby Phat jeans and my favorite pumps for a look that is polished yet casual and perfect for running a few errands.

Color Inspiration: Wine

If  you're looking to play with color this season, opting for one of fall/winter's traditional colors, like wine, is a great way to go.  This rich, sultry hue works on every skin tone and pairs beautifully with a variety of colors (e.g. black, gray, cream, navy, etc.).  However, if you're feeling a bit bold, you can rock this shade from head to toe in a lovely monochromatic look.

Rachel Roy Curvy Collection for Fall

Earlier this year, Rachel Roy relaunched her brand and, thankfully, included plus-size options. Despite my initial frustration with her plus-size collection for spring (see previous post here), I'm still very happy to see that she has ventured into the plus-size market.

Maxing Out

I love rocking maxi dresses, especially in the summer, but finding one for the fall has always been a bit challenging.  So, when I spotted this fabulous plus-size option at Target from the Who What Wear collection, I just had to have it.  The print and fit are great, plus the length is perfect, which is pretty rare for me since I am petite (5'4").  I also really like the versatility of this dress. It can work for fall or spring and, depending on styling, can be worn for a lot of different occasions.

Color Inspiration: Gray

It's certainly no secret that for many of us black has always been our go-to color choice, especially in the fall.  However, if you're looking for a softer color palette this season that is just as chic, gray can be a great alternative.  Not only is it a neutral that can be paired with almost anything, but it can be worn from head to toe, just like black, and be equally stylish. So, today, I'm sharing some fun pieces in this hue to get you started.
