Currently Craving: 12 Pairs of Plus-Sized Shorts

After wearing my little white romper a few weeks back (see here), I've been dying to add some shorts to my wardrobe, but finding the right pair to work for me has taken quite a bit of trial and error.  After a ton of online shopping, I've finally found a pair that I love.  Yes, only one pair!  Hopefully, I can decide on a few others before the summer is over.

Anyway, I figured that I'd share a few pairs of plus-sized shorts that would be great additions to any wardrobe.  Even though I like them all, I really love the acid wash shorts (#2) and the coated shorts (#7) from City Chic.  They look so fun and would easily pair with so many items in my current wardrobe.  Which pair is your favorite?

Thanks for reading.

40 Plus-Sized Summer Wedding Guest Dresses

Today, to end my summer wedding series (see here, here and here), I wanted to share some plus-sized dress options for those of you still on the hunt for the perfect dress to wear to your friend or family member's wedding.  Below, I've put together some beautiful dresses that could work for several types of weddings. (Links to all of the dresses are located at the bottom of this post.)

Beach

Black-Tie/Formal

Cocktail/Semi-Formal

Garden

Backyard/Barn/Casual

While I focused on dresses in this series, separates can also be a great option.  A pretty blouse paired with a skirt, especially a midi-skirt, can be as pretty and elegant as wearing a dress. Plus, you'll have the added benefit of being able to style these pieces with different items in your closet long after the wedding is over. (see here for midi skirt options)

I hope this series was helpful.  If you have anything you would like to see in a future series, please let me know in the comments below. Thanks for reading.

What to Wear: Summer Wedding - Garden

Today's post is all about the garden wedding.  Garden weddings are my absolute favorite type of wedding.  To me, there's just something so romantic about marrying the man you love surrounded by beautiful flowers, particularly Calla Lilies.  Anyway, before I start fantasizing about my dream wedding, let's talk about today's example.

For a garden wedding, as opposed to the beach or classic wedding (see here and here),  I'd opt for a dress that is delicate, colorful and has a hint of romance, like the one I'm wearing here, to go along with the venue.  I'd then add dainty accessories and a simple pair of heels to complete the look.  I realize that sinking into the grass/dirt is probably the worst thing ever, but there are items available to help avoid that (see here and here).  You could also choose wedges instead of heels.

I hope this gives you an idea of what you could wear to a garden wedding.  Thanks for reading.

What to Wear: Summer Wedding - Classic

Today, I'm continuing my summer wedding series with the classic wedding.  Although many couples opt for an outdoor wedding during the warmer months, classic weddings held in churches, hotels or halls are still quite popular in the summer.  Since these types of weddings can be held in the late morning, afternoon or evening, putting together an appropriate outfit might be a little daunting.

A cocktail dress, like the one I'm wearing here, is always a great option for a classic wedding.  It's dressy without being overly formal and can easily be styled with simple accessories and a great pair of pumps for a fun yet sophisticated look.

I hope this is helpful and thanks for reading.

What to Wear: Summer Wedding - Beach

It's wedding season, which means that many of you are on the hunt for the perfect outfit to wear to your friend or family member's special day.  However, since there are so many different types of weddings, finding the perfect outfit, especially in plus sizes, can be challenging.  So, I figured I'd do a series of posts this week dedicated to helping you all create the perfect look for the most common types of summer weddings.

Today's post is an example of what I'd wear to a beach wedding.  Even though beach weddings are usually more on the casual side, this does not mean jeans are an option.  Instead, opt for a maxi dress, like I've done here, that is made of a light, breathable fabric.  Since it tends to get windy at the beach, wearing a longer dress will keep you from worrying about having a Marilyn Monroe moment and mooning everyone at the wedding.

To keep your feet from sinking into the sand, choose flat sandals instead of heels.  If you're worried that a flat won't be dressy enough, look for a pair that has a hint of fanciness like a metallic or embellished sandal.  Lastly, add a great clutch and some pretty accessories and your outfit should be complete.

I hope this is helpful and thanks for reading.

Currently Craving: 3 Plus-Sized Matching Sets

I don't know if it's just me, but I've been completely obsessed with matching sets lately.  However, finding one to add to my wardrobe has been a bit challenging.  I really want a shorts and crop top set, but finding a coordinating set like that in plus sizes has been pretty much impossible.

Today, I'm sharing three coordinating sets I've found in plus sizes that I really love.  I'm especially fond of the set from Eloquii (#2).  I love the floral print and the semi-peplum on the skirt.  I also really love that all of these sets can easily be styled with other pieces in my existing wardrobe.  For example, the tops can be paired with other skirts (pencil, skater, etc.) and the skirts can be styled with a variety of blouses for office appropriate looks or for evenings out.

What do you all think? Are you dying to add a coordinating set to your wardrobe too? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below.
